Most of the people suffering from anxiety are unsuccessful in getting their way out of the stressful events. Without addressing the root cause of the anxiety attack the person will have a hard time to identify the real problem and obtaining the right solution.
Many people suffering from general anxiety have unwanted thoughts flooding their minds leading to the higher levels of panic attacks and anxiety episodes. It is the unwanted thoughts that cause the attacks and episodes.
The unwanted thoughts could include the personal healthy, concern for a loved one, career related issues, or another stressful event. The thoughts are self-induced creating a horrible experience for the person. Without handling each situation properly, the person may experience a traumatic event.
Sometimes the intrusive thoughts are from a previous negative experience the person has not dealt with. Others are simply occurrences the leave the person feeling unsure as the reasons for the traumatic events and the panic attacks. Most suffers have episode and attacks due to worry and being distressed about the situation.
There are several ways to deal with the episodes including not taking any action and just suffering through the time of the attacks, avoidance of the feelings, suppressing the anxious feelings, and dealing with the situations that are causing the anxiety.
Not taking action when experiencing the panic attacks and episodes does not help the suffer deal with the situation and usually only increases the negatives related to the continued exposure to the certain situation.
Avoiding the feelings is also not going to help the situation or the suffer. Human nature is to avoid dangerous situations so it is only common to flee the dangerous situations instead of finding the real reasons for the fear of danger when there generally is not any involved. This method of dealing with the situation only elevates the levels of fear and anxiety to feel safe.
Suppressing the feelings intensifies the feelings of fear and anxiety. It is proven that to suppress the feelings only heightens the frequencies of the unwanted thoughts and situations.
The reoccurrence of the fears and situations is called the rebound effect. Simply stated the more you avoid the thoughts the more they will happen within your thoughts.
Instead of avoiding and suppressing the thoughts try thinking about the situations that you are thinking about that caused the anxiety and panic attacks. Meet the situations and fears head-on to make them go away.
Avoid telling yourself that you are not able to deal with what is going to happen. You will be just fine and walk away from the situation but you have to believe it will be all right. This is the one way to avoid the panic attacks and anxiety. Learn to think positive about the situation so you react differently this time.
The best solution for the panic attacks and anxiety episodes is to remain calm. Remember to breathe with deep breaths that will provide oxygen to the brain allowing you to think clearly and reducing the stress and the racing heart sensation of the past. Tell yourself you will be just fine and you will make it through the situation. Think of something that makes you happy to get your mind off the negative fearful thoughts running through your head. You will eventually be able to face any of the prior situations by remembering that you will be “just fine” and will continue with other positive things in your life.
